An aide to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the incoming national security advisor to US President-elect Donald Trump have agreed the 2 leaders should have summit talks at an early date.
Katsuyuki Kawai met with former US Defense Intelligence Agency Director Michael Flynn in Washington on Friday.
Kawai and Flynn said they shared a view that the value and significance of the Japan-US alliance will remain unchanged under the Trump administration.
