Diane Mizota to Co-host ‘Bingo America’
Posted inSANTA MONICA — The Game Show Network (GSN) announced on Sept. 19 the start of production on the second season of “Bingo America” with a new and familiar face at the forefront, premiering Monday, Oct. 6, airing weeknights at 6:30 p.m. with encore presentations Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m.
Richard Karn makes his return to game show hosting with “Bingo America,” which began production on a tall order of 65 episodes in Los Angeles during August. He is known for his role on the sitcom “Home Improvement” and as host of the game show “Family Feud.”
Karn is joined by another new face, experienced television host Diane Mizota. She hosted the Emmy-nominated kids’ decorating show “Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls,” TLC’s “Your Place or Mine,” and the NBC prime-time reality show “Three Wishes.”
A Northern California native and UCLA graduate, Mizota began her career in entertainment as a professional dancer in Los Angeles. With credits on television shows such as the 68th and 69th Academy Awards, “Friends” and “Ally McBeal” and films like “That Thing You Do,” “A View From the Top” and “Boogie Nights,” she began to expand her career into acting.
Getting her start in commercials, her credits now include “King of Queens,” “Without a Trace” and “CSI: Miami” on TV and a film role opposite Mike Myers in “Austin Powers in Goldmember.”
“Bingo America” awards cash to both in-show contestants and at-home viewers in every episode. In the second season, the studio audience will be an integral and interactive part of the show.
The show invites every viewer to play along and compete with other viewers. To that end, free, downloadable bingo cards are provided at at www.GSN.com, from which more than 9 million cards were printed in Season 1. New bingo cards will be available at GSN.com just prior to the premiere of Season 2.
