Grace Kimiko Nosaka
Grace Kimiko Nosaka, a long-time resident of San Mateo, died peacefully at San Mateo Convalescent Hospital Sept. 20, 2008 following a long illness. She was 90 years old and the daughter of Yoshi Moyikawa Hirayama and Tetsugoro Hirayama. Her husband of 59 years, William Nosaka, died in 2002.
Grace had a long career as a cook, caterer and personal aide in the Hillsborough and San Mateo area. She was a 1937 graduate of Burlingame High School. She is survived by her daughters Candace Ames of Hilo, Hawaii and Louann Igasaki of Alexandria, Va.; her sons-in-law David Ames and Paul Igasaki; her grandchildren John Ames, Alisa Ames, Dr. Marisa Ames and Aiko Igasaki.
Services were held at the San Mateo Buddhist Temple Sept. 27, 2008. Interment was at the Japanese Cemetery in Colma. Arrangements by Sneider, Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home of San Mateo.
