Toriye Watanabe of Palo Alto passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 90. Toriye was a native Californian. She enjoyed cooking and many craftworks and was an active member of Palo Alto Buddhist Temple.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Togo; her sister, Dorothy Yamada; and brother, George Antoku. Preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Dowke and Edith Azlant; and her brother, Charlie Antoku. Survived by her children: Toshiye Maye and her husband, Terry Stiff; Eichi Kenney Watanabe and his wife, Lorraine; and Jerry Watanabe and his wife, Diana. Also survived by grandchildren, Wes Watanabe and Travis Williams, and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at Palo Alto Buddhist Temple, 2751 Louis Rd.
