Nancy Wang and Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo of San Francisco have been awarded the Circle of Excellence Award by the National Storytelling Network.

The award is presented to storytellers recognized by their peers as demonstrating a lifetime commitment and dedication to the art of storytelling.

A practicing psychotherapist, Wang is a trained dancer in contemporary and traditional forms. Kikuchi-Yngojo is a musician and songwriter with several film scores to his credit. The husband-and-wife team performs as Eth-Noh-Tec.

Their shows are a kaleidoscope of sounds, words, music and movement. Layering ancient Asian myths, folktales, urban legends with Asian American sensibilities, Eth-Noh-Tec creates an original blend of storytelling and kinetic theater. Their stories promote conscious and courageous living tempered with compassion and humor.

The duo has also been recognized by the Parents' Choice National Parenting Organization, and received a Bronze Telly and an Emmy.

Eth-Noh-Tec has performed in educational institutions and theaters around the world, for President Bill Clinton's Inauguration, and on NPR's "All Things Considered." The duo will lead a storytelling trip to India in 2009.

The National Storytelling Network celebrates their high standards of excellence and their steady work to build international bridges of peace through storytelling. Wang and Kikuchi-Yngojo accepted their award at the National Storytelling Conference on Aug. 10 in Gatlinburg, Tenn. The next conference is scheduled for Los Angeles in 2010.
